The hugely popular event was organised by the International Commission for Optics (ICO) and the Spanish Optical Society (SEDOPTICA) and ran under the theme: 'Enlightening the Future'. (Such a good title, and for so many reasons.)
As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the photonics industry at a tertiary level, Radiantis recently participated in the Thesis Committee of the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), which awarded a PhD to one of its most recent graduates, Dr. Can Yao.
Dr. Can received the award for her thesis entitled, 'Light Generation and Manipulation from Nonlinear Randomly Distributed Domains in SBN', which set out to examine non-linear optics and the generation and propagation of nonlinear light from crystalline structures with disordered nonlinear domains presenting an homogenous refractive index. She was supported and supervised in her efforts by Dr. Jordi Martorell and Dr. Francisco Rodríguez of the ICFO.
Further to the formalisation of an ongoing agreement with Taiwan-based distributor Superbin Company Ltd, Radiantis products were prominently displayed at the OPTO Taiwan Trade Show last week.
"We are delighted to have signed a distribution agreement with Superbin, who have an excellent reputation both in Taiwan and the region," said Radiantis CEO Sara Otero. "We are equally delighted that our products were featured so promptly at the highly prestigious OPTO Trade Show, which has been in existence since 1984 and is generally regarded to be one of the industry's most important events."
The recent CLEO:2014 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics in the United States proved to be a major success for Radiantis on many levels, but most notably for the extremely positive response it received to the launch of its latest product, the IR Spectrometer SeaWave.
"The launch was a great success and we were very pleasantly overwhelmed by the level of positive feedback we received from the scientific, industrial, medical and food sectors," said Radiantis CEO Sara Otero.
Radiantis was proud and delighted to be able to play host to a group of PhD students and researchers from Barcelona's Institut de Ciències Fotóniques (ICFO) earlier this month.
Radiantis CEO Sara Otero kicked the day off with a brief presentation about the birth of Radiantis as a company, the nature of the work they now undertake on a day-to-day basis, and the role of photonics in a modern commercial marketplace.
